The Couhé region twinning committee held its general meeting on Thursday February 20, 2025 at 8pm in the Salle de la Communauté de Communes in Couhé, chaired by Gil Senelier and attended by around twenty people, including two representatives from the Gençay twinning committee.

Dominique Rousseau, secretary, reported on the year's activities, which included a visit from a delegation from Hemmoor, our German twin town. Sabine Cordez, headmistress of an elementary school in the Hemmoor region, spent a long time observing Couhé's primary classes. Exchanges between 4th and 3rd graders from Collège André-Brouillet and Collège Hemmoor took place, and will continue in the third trimester of this school year. Since its inception, the twinning program has enabled 875 young French people to visit Germany as part of school or professional exchanges. In 2025, elementary schools will take part in a drawing competition based on the coastline of each country: residents of Couhé's Ehpad will be the recipients.

The end of the twinning with Swaffam, an English town, was officially ratified. Activities with Burkina Faso, under the responsibility of Jacques Chenuet, whose strong commitment was praised by the President, are currently on hold due to the high level of insecurity in the country. As part of our exchanges with Poland, we are organizing a trip to Osieciny from August 23 to 29. It is open to all: interested parties should contact Annie Paradot on 06.43.51.12.08. The 2024 balance sheet, presented by treasurer Jean-Pierre Rousseau, shows expenses of 3.270 in expenses for €3,416 in income, including €512 in membership fees paid by the 55 members.
