Several U.S.-funded projects have resumed activities after a period of suspension, according to a representative of the External Affairs Department of Quang Tri province (Center).

Earlier, on February 4, the U.S. ordered the suspension of the activities of non-governmental organizations receiving government funding for 90 days, from January 25, 2025, in order to carry out an assessment and review.

This suspension affected important projects in Quang Tri, such as research and mine clearance, as well as support for disabled people and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin.

One of the projects that has resumed activity is the Restoring the Environment and Mitigating the Effects of War (RENEW) project, with a budget of over $9.7 million, funded by Norwegian People's Aid (APN).

The "Search and Destruction of Mines and Explosive Devices" initiative has also resumed its activities, with a budget of over $14.5 million, funded by the Peace Trees Vietnam (PTVN) organization.

The resumed programs also include capacity building for the Quang Tri Province Mine Action Center (QTMAC), with a budget of $1.4 million, financed by the APN organization. by the APN organization; and support for improving the quality of life of disabled people in provinces severely affected by dioxin, with a fund of over $5.6 million.
