Poland/ Association "Plejada": French language and culture in Poland
The Academic Association of Polish Romanists "Plejada" is a social organization dedicated to promoting the French language, literature and culture, as well as those of French-speaking countries. A quarterly newsletter on its activities has just been launched.
Objectives
The " Plejada" Association has several major objectives:
- to train qualified university teachers in the field of Romance studies, including literature, language, culture, French didactics and translatology.
- to encourage scientific research, notably through the publication of works, the organization of seminars, congresses, scientific training courses, research projects and teacher exchanges.
- to foster the integration of French-language academic circles in Poland and internationally.
- to promote the French language and francophone cultures through theoretical and practical approaches.
Activities
To achieve its objectives, the association undertakes a variety of initiatives:
- regular seminars for doctoral students in Romance Studies.
- conferences, congresses, debates and scientific publications.
- popularization workshops for a wider public.
- collaboration with similar scientific associations, notably in Central and Eastern Europe.
Partnerships
The organization works closely with theFrench Embassy in Poland, as well as with representatives of other French-speaking countries, strengthening academic and cultural ties.
