Côte d'Ivoire/ The judicial child protection service sensitizes pupils in M'Bahiakro to the evils of drugs
The M'Bahiakro judicial child and youth protection service has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the harmful effects of drugs in secondary schools in the M'Bahiakro judicial area.
This activity, organized in collaboration with the anti-drug unit of the Daoukro national gendarmerie, took place on Monday March 17, 2025 at the Lycée Moderne in M'Bahiakro.
Chief Warrant Officer Ndri Kouakou Olivier, deputy head of the Daoukro anti-drug unit, told the students, who had gathered around the flagpole for the occasion, about the dangers of drug use and the risks it represents for them, the students. He urged them to stay away from this substance capable of destroying their future and their lives.
The judicial police authority reminded students that these dangerous substances are forbidden by law to be consumed and marketed, warning that offenders would be liable to prosecution and criminal convictions.
He called on teachers to make students more aware of this phenomenon during lessons, and on supervisors and parents to to be more vigilant about their children's habits, given the extent of drug use in our society and in the school environment.
Tuo Tiémoko, Inspector for the Judicial Protection of Children and Young People, took the opportunity to point out that the initiative to launch a campaign to raise awareness of the phenomenon of drug use among schoolchildren was a major step in the right direction.ne of drug consumption was taken with the judicial authorities of M'Bahiakro, following the presentation of two minors implicated in drug consumption, before the court of M'Bahiakro, during January 2025.
The program of this awareness campaign in secondary schools began on March 03 at Assa College in M'Bahiakro, and is due to end on March 26 in Prikro.
