France/ The twinning committee between Agon-Coutainville and Jersey celebrates its 20th anniversary
The twinning committee between Agon-Coutainville (Manche) and La Trinité (Jersey) will celebrate its 20th anniversary in June 2025. The organization talks about what will be carried out during this anniversary year.

We hope that the re-foundation of the Jersey Normandie association will enable it to revive the twinning dynamic and provide added value to encourage communes to join on a permanent basis," confides the president. Mayor Christian Dutertre confided that he wanted Agon-Coutainville to remain a member of the Jersey Normandie association, and undertook to pay the 2025 membership fee.
20th anniversary to be celebrated in 2025
With regard to the partnership with the casino, Antoine Vespier, the casino's manager, presented the twinning committee with a cheque for €500. This donation is part of the support for local associations imposed by the latest delegation of public services, entrusting it with the management of the casino for a further 15 years.
The year 2025 will mark the 20th anniversary of the twinning. To mark the occasion, during the weekend of June 13-15, the renewed twinning charter will be signed by Philippe Lesueur, constable of Trinity, and Christian Dutertre, mayor of Agon-Coutainville, in the presence of the 2005 signatories, John Gallichan and Max Avenel. The inter-twinning games will take place in the parish of Grouville, Jersey, on June 28, 2025. Isabelle Bouyer-Maupas, departmental councillor for La Manche, stressed "the importance of exchanges with Jersey in the light of history".
