France/Poitiers: a festival to raise awareness of sustainable development issues in universities

Shows, lectures, workshops and exhibitions will punctuate the third edition of Printemps durable, the sustainable development festival at the University of Poitiers, taking place from Monday March 10 to Thursday March 27, 2025.

Three's a crowd for Printemps durable. The University of Poitiers' sustainable development festival returns for a third edition, from Monday March 10 to Thursday March 27, 2025, on the Poitiers, Angoulême, Niort and Châtellerault campuses. The event is an opportunity to explore issues such as protecting biodiversity, food, renewable energies, reducing inequalities, inclusion and responsible consumption.

Bal trad, comic-book concert and culinary competition

In Poitiers, this year's event kicks off with a Folk'o'campus, on Monday March 10, at the Maison des étudiants de Poitiers. This musical evening will take place in two parts: an introduction to bal trad at 8 pm, followed by a techno bal trad led by artists Gros Sabot and Saphire La Fleur, from 9 pm to 11 pm. The event will close with a sound campus on Thursday, March 27, at 9 p.m., at the same venue, with the concert-BD Algues vertesperformed by the groups Mnemotechnic and Poing.

In the meantime, the Maison des étudiants will host other highlights: a student cooking competition inspired by the TV show Top Chef, Tuesday March 11, at 6 p.m.; a stand-up performance by the Greenwashing Comedy Club, Tuesday 18 at 8 p.m.; or an evening of improvisational theater with two matches - one visual, the other dubbed in sign language - on Wednesday, March 19, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Workshops, conferences and exhibitions

Printemps durable will also feature a film-debate on the documentary film Incroyables plantes, Wednesday March 26, at 2:30 p.m., at the Inspé. Three conferences are also planned, including one entitled "Carbone express: en route vers la décarbonation"; this fun, interactive event, which aims to explore solutions for reducing one's carbon footprint, will take place on Tuesday 25, at 6 p.m., at La Ruche.

The Maison des Étudiants will also be the scene of a biodiversity advocacy day with the associations Circumactio, Vertuelle and Sauve ta plante, on Monday March 17, from 12 to 8 p.m., as well as a variety of workshops (cooking, chess, setting up a farm, etc.). Finally, the university libraries will be presenting three exhibitions dedicated to the environment or the ecological and social transition.
