Algeria/ Ramadhan 2025 campaign kicks off to help the needy

The "Ramadhan 2025" campaign of the "Banque Alimentaire Algérie" program kicked off on Saturday at the Mahmoud Rouni stadium in El Annasser, in the commune of Belouizdad (Algiers), under the slogan "Civil society at the service of national solidarity".

Organized by the "Sidra" association under the supervision of the Observatoire national de la société civile (ONSC), the campaign aims to provide food aid to 10.000 needy families in 20 wilayas throughout the month of Ramadhan, and to encourage charitable initiatives by the various players in civil society.

Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Noureddine Benbraham, President of the ONSC, said that the initiative was aimed at reinforcing solidarity actions during the holy month and supporting associations working in the field at local and neighbourhood level.

He also highlighted "the increase in the number of volunteers this year, thanks to the use of new communication technologies to mobilize young people, particularly students and high-school pupils.tudiants et lycéens, by instilling in them the values of solidarity and mutual aid advocated by our religion to help the needy during the holy month".

For his part, Nassim Filali, president of the Sidra association, hailed the strong participation of young people, explaining this enthusiasm by "the awareness campaigns aimed at young people to promote the principle of solidarity and mutual aid.to promote the principle of active citizenship and volunteerism" through participation in these actions, enabling young people to play an active role in society.
