World Bank representative Arame Tall and Ndèye Coura Mbaye Diop, coordinator of the environmental component of the Senegalese Natural Resources Management Project (SENRM), as well as several officials from the Ministry of the Environment and Ecological Transition took part in the ceremony.

The receipt of this equipment "represents an important support from the SENRM project, which has been willing to allocate the resources essential to the realization of the Senegalese government's policy on the environment and ecological transition", added Mr. Ngom.

The equipment received includes camping, nomadic and computer equipment.

Ndèye Coura Mbaye Diop, coordinator of the SENRM project's environmental management unit, explained that this "handover is part of the implementation of the SENRM environmental work program and annual budget for 2024".

This first batch of equipment is financed by the World Bank, through the Senegal Natural Resources Management Project. The SENRM project was initiated by the State of Senegal, thanks to $100 million in funding from the World Bank. It is scheduled to run for six years (2023-2028).

Under the technical supervision of the Ministries in charge of the Environment and Fisheries, the environment component of the Senegal Natural Resources Management Project is active in the regions of Saint-Louis, Thiès, Dakar, Fatick, Ziguinchor, Sédhiou and Kolda.
