France/ After an extraordinary year, the Villers-Bocage twinning committee goes to England for 4 days
After a 2024 marked by the 80th anniversary of D-Day and its own 50th anniversary, the Villers-Bocage/Bampton Twinning Committee presented its 2025 program.
On Thursday January 30, 2025, the Villers-Bocage/Bampton Twinning Committee held its general meeting at the Richard-Lenoir Center in Villers-Bocage, Calvados, under the chairmanship of Evelyne Lesauvage.sidence of Evelyne Lesauvage, in the presence of a dozen members and the mayor, Stéphanie Leberrurier.
The year 2024 was a very special one in more ways than one for the Villers committee, " notably with the visit of the English for our 50th anniversary of twinning and the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings, to various sites and historic sites recalling this period. We also took part for the first time in the forum des associations du Pré-Bocage ".
The association's program for 2025
2025 is bound to be less eventful than the extraordinary year of 2024. It does, however, include : a tripe morning in March; a country-style meal in Ondefontaine, scheduled for either April 12 and 13 or September 27 and 28; the twinning association will take part in Villers en fête on June 28 and the Foire à tout in September; a bingo is scheduled for November 15 at the Richard-Lenoir center; and a tombola at the end of the year. A trip to Bampton is also planned for May 2-5.
The association's financial results are negative : with receipts of €6,565.64, and expenses of €10,924.57, due to its 50th anniversary and the welcome of the English for the 80th, but the twinning committee receives a subsidy of €700 from the municipality of Villers-Bocage.
The twinning committee has 22 members, and the annual subscription remains at €10 per person.
The board: Évelyne Lesauvage, president; Didier Robbes, secretary; Nadine Ogier, treasurer, and Patricia Coquelin, deputy treasurer.
