This Orne-based association, set up in 1989, is looking at its work with the elderly, taking into account their increasing life expectancy and new needs.

Founded in 1989, Vie et Partage, based in Trun(Orne), is considering a change in the association's statutes in 2025, taking into accountlonger life expectancy and the new needs of the elderly.

Vie et Partage wants to redefine its work with the elderly

In 2024,Vie et Partage continued its discussions with the management of Ehpad de Trun to define the actions to be taken and strengthen collaboration on joint projects, in particular recreational activities for residents of the retirement home.

At the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, February 1, 2025, association president Jean-Louis Desvigne stressed the importance of "respecting the partnership agreement and volunteer charter in force at the Ehpad Trun.in force at the Ehpad, in particular the health and safety instructions, which must be scrupulously observed by all volunteers".

The outcome of activities in 2024, the first year with the new team in place, was not as rich as had been hopedfinancial constraints and a lack of experience in event organization. However, the program for 2025 is currently being drawn up, and several projects are in the pipeline.

The 2025 program under development

The association has sent requests for subsidies to town halls in the Trun area, and has written to local institutions and businesses.

After Candlemas, celebrated on February 4 with Brigitte Rogereau on accordion, several other events are planned: a seniors' meal with the town of Trun, a lotto at the Ehpad on March 11, a carnival on April 29, lily of the valley on May 1 and a belote competition on June 5. Not forgetting a tombola, a family meal, a Christmas show, festive ceremonies for centenarians, postcards for residents, and so on.

All suggestions are welcome, and don't forget that a moment shared with residents who receive few visits is very important."

Jean-Louis Desvigne also opened a debate on the evolution of the association's commitment, which in the early days focused solely on helping the Trun hospice, now the Ehpad:

I propose that, during the year 2025, we reflect on adapting our statutes in line with the social and family evolutions of people in the third and fourth ages."

The idea would be to take account of longer life expectancy and new needs in terms of health, social and cultural support.

A number of proposals have been put forward, such as co-organizing the seniors' meal and opening the Delaunay garage, which would provide a "third place" where equipment could be made available for various projects.
