France/ Lons-le-Saunier. During the German Film Fortnight, the Twinning Committee treats visitors to a feast of German films.

In parallel with the festival, the Lons-le-Saunier twinning committee is setting up a gourmet stand to discover some of Germany's culinary heritage.

To mark the German Film Fortnight, the Lons-le-Saunier Twinning Committee, chaired by Catherine Bey, is offering local residents and visitors the chance to discoverGermany through its flavors.

After an initial opening last weekend, the stand will be open again, on the forecourt of the 4C media library, this Friday and Saturday, February 7 and 8, 2025.

Gourmet immersion before the film

Passers-by will be able to savor typical specialties such as Kartoffelsalat, a potato salad, Kinderpunsch, a hot fruity and spicy drink, as well as other delicacies that will make the taste buds travel, such as mulled wine. The stand is designed to complement the film screenings, offering a visual and culinary immersion inGerman culture.

Culture is, of course, literature, music and cinema, but it's also everyday life, and so the gastronomic aspect has its place.

An invitation to exchange and discover

Much more than a simple event, this initiative aims to strengthen the ties between German and French cultures. Catherine Bey explains: "The profits generated will enable us to organize the next School Olympics, which will take place in Lons-le-Saunier.which will take place in Lons-le-Saunier in mid-May 2025, and for which preparations are already well underway.

"We'll be welcoming around a hundred German pupils to take part in "national" sporting competitions, as well as friendly mixed-group competitions. We need to show our young people that their neighbor, whether German or French, is not an enemy, that we can be friends and live and have fun together.
