Conference to present the SESC program - Savoirs Endogènes, Savoirs Contemporains: de nouvelles alliances pour les ODD
The North Africa Department of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), in partnership with HEM Business School, is organizing a conference to present the projects selected as part of the "Savoirs Endogènes, Savoirs Contemporains (SESC): de nouvelles alliances pour les Objectifs de Développement Durable (ODD)" program. This event will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at HEM Business School in Rabat.
Launched as part of theSESC call for projects, this program aims to create multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder research groups that promote complementarity between academic and traditional/endogenous knowledge. Of the 25 projects submitted, 9 were selected for their relevance and originality:

5 Moroccan projects
- Mustapha KHIRI- Savoirs endogènes, savoirs contemporains: sauvegarde et transmission du technolecte ordinaire amazigh architectural traditionnel des ksours du sud-est du Maroc " (Endogenous knowledge, contemporary knowledge: safeguarding and transmitting the ordinary Amazigh architectural technollection of the ksours of southeastern Morocco).
- Lahcen KABIRI- Popular and contemporary technical and agronomic knowledge in support of oasis family farming in Errachidia - South-East Morocco
- Fouad AMRAOUI - Telling the social history of water. Characterization and valorization of groundwater for socio-economic development. The case of Bénichab
- Ms Rahma BARBARA - Storytelling for sustainable development in Morocco
- Mohammed LAHLOU - Linguistic and digital mediation of traditional Moroccan passementerie knowledge

- Hedi BEN MANSOUR - Efficient water management between endogenous and contemporary knowledge: a sustainable development issue
- Ms Faten HUSSEIN - Savoirs de terre: Construction et expérimentation d'un modèle de répertoire de techniques constructives hybrides et résilientes en terre en Tunisie
- Dr. Lassaad HEDHILI - Rediscovery and chemical valorization of traditional microbiomes in Amazigh dishes: A multidisciplinary Tunisian-Moroccan-Canadian approach for health, South-South knowledge transfer and sustainability (ODD 2 and 11)

- Abdellahi Mohamed VALL HMEYADA - Contribution to the study of medicinal and aromatic plants in Mauritania: the example of the Guidimaka wilaya (southeast Mauritania)
These projects involve 27 partners, including universities, research centers and civil society organizations.
A rich program and promising prospects
The conference will provide a platform for the project leaders to present their work in 3 minutes each. It will also :
- Highlight innovative initiatives in the field of sustainable development.
- Explore prospects for collaboration and funding for selected projects.
- Unveil the outline of the next call for SESC projects, with significant new features for 2025.
