Côte d'Ivoire/ A qualitative leap of over 60% achieved in the Tchologo health district
A qualitative leap of over 60% was achieved in the Tchologo health district during 2024, noted Tchologo regional health director Lambert Konan Kouakoussué, at the annual action review presentation meeting held on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 January 2025 in Ferkessédougou.
"We believe that much has been achieved in 2024 in terms of interventions, services and health coverage in the Tchologo region. And our region ranks among the best performing in Côte d'Ivoire," said Dr. Kouakoussué. He added, however, that major challenges remain.
For him, it was important to present the planning of health activities in the Tchologo region, the programmatic performances realized during the year, identify the difficulties and problems encountered, and draw up action plans and prospects for 2025.
The health district's annual review focused on curative care activities, the fight against malaria, HIV-AIDS, the various vaccination campaigns, mother-child health, public hygiene and universal health coverage.
The report recommends stepping up the distribution of impregnated mosquito nets, resolving the shortage of certain vaccines and inputs, tackling malnutrition among young children, and stepping up community activities in conjunction with the health centers.
The Secretary General of the Ferkessédougou prefecture, Emile Koffi, hailed these achievements. He encouraged health facility managers and their staff to persevere in their efforts. "The government places particular emphasis on the health of all populations in Côte d'Ivoire", he reminded them.
