Côte d'Ivoire/ UNDP unveils the results of a survey on the vulnerability of social infrastructures in Tchologo
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has carried out a survey on the vulnerability of social infrastructures in the Tchologo region, the results of which were presented on Monday December 23, 2024, in Ferkessédougou.
This survey is part of the implementation of the "Projet d'amélioration des infrastructures sociales dans les collectivités locales du nord de la Côte d'Ivoire".
UNDP project manager Peyogori Ouattara explained that the aim of the presentation was to share with local development stakeholders the results of the mapping of localities vulnerable to basic social infrastructure, so that they could be taken into account in the various three-year programs. He indicated that this will enable inclusive and sustainable development in the region.
The results focused primarily on the health, education and drinking water infrastructure sectors in the three Tchologo departments. The presentation was also an opportunity for the UNDP to make a plea to local authorities to incorporate these results into their various programs.
Jean Pierre Sory, Prefect of the Tchologo region and Prefect of the Ferkessédougou department, welcomed the presentation workshop. He encouraged the inclusion of development programs for the benefit of the region's populations.
The project, which takes into account the massive influx of asylum seekers from northern border countries, is being carried out by the UNDP with financial support from the Japanese government through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). A first presentation workshop has already been held in the Bounkani region.
