Burkina Faso

In collaboration with the Ministry of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training (MESFPT), Orange Digital Center launched the pilot phase of its #SuperCoders training caravan at Lycée Wendpouiré in Saaba on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Promoting digital to young people

In a world where digital technology plays a key role, Orange Digital Center is committed to introducing students to the world of digital technology from high school, before they go on to university. The aim of this training caravan is to stimulate young people's interest in digital technology, while preparing them for the professions of the future.
During this initiative, students will have the opportunity to discover the digital professions and the skills needed to enter them; tolearn the basics of computing through interactive and accessible activities, and acquire programming and robotics skills through hands-on workshops.

Free CNIB registration

Alongside this training caravan, the Orange Foundation also took the opportunity to launch its free CNIB production program for students. In partnership with the Office national d'identification, this program aims to provide around 5,000 CNIBs free of charge to students.
These CNIBs will enable students to exercise their civic and administrative rights, while making it easier to compile their files for upcoming exams.

Training for the future

According to Ibrahim Hema, Executive Secretary of the Orange Burkina Foundation, "this caravan targets students from the second year of secondary school onwards, to give them the basics they need to evolve in a world where digital technology is taking on an increasingly important role."
For this first session, thirty students have been selected by the school. Lycée Wendpouiré principal Socrate Jean Vincent Bationo commented: "We had a hard time choosing these thirty students, as almost all of them wanted to take part. This shows their interest and need for this training."
On behalf of the teaching staff, he expressed his gratitude to Orange Digital Center for this free initiative, as well as to the Orange Foundation for granting the CNIBs.

"This training is essential for our students, especially those in the second cycle, in view of the rapid evolution of the digital world."

Student enthusiasm

As far as the students are concerned, the initiative has been very well received. Carla Astride Thiombiano, a student in Terminale A4 and the school's general delegate, confided: "This training is important, as it provides us with notions of computer programming and robotics. These days, technology is essential. This will serve us well in the long term, and we're very happy about that."

An ambitious program

The training program extends over eight sessions, including modules such as introduction to computers, programming with Scratch, electronics and embedded systems. Lead trainer Kizito Bagré will oversee these activities, enabling students to immerse themselves in the world of technology.
