Algeria/ Forum in Algiers on the role of the media in strengthening intellectual security among young people
On Tuesday in Algiers, the Conseil Supérieur de la Jeunesse (CSJ) organized a forum on "The role of the media in strengthening intellectual security among young Algerians", with the participation of academics and experts in the field.
In a speech read on his behalf by CSJ vice-president Salah Koreichi, Youth Minister Mustapha Hidaoui, who is in charge of the CSJ (Conseil Supérieur de la Jeunesse), stressed "the importance of this theme, given its impact on this important category of society".sident du CSJ, Salah Koreichi, "the importance of this theme, given its impact on this important category of society".
Hidaoui called on participants to formulate "recommendations and proposals to promote the role of the media and improve communication in order to reflect the true image of Algeria and its people".
For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, emphasized, in a speech read on his behalf by the ministry's representative, Assia Sahraoui, the importance of the forum's theme, which highlights "the roles that young people can play in the media".the role that young people can play in reinforcing intellectual security, at a time when we are inundated by media content from all sides, through modern and varied media".
He added that the CSJ will be making a "strong contribution to the fight against all forms of discrimination, and the rejection of deplorable hate speech, narrow-minded regionalism and extremism, in order to eradicate all the scourges that threaten our society".
In his speech, Tahar Ahad, Chairman of the Information and Communication Commission at the CSJ, highlighted "the major role of the media in strengthening intellectual security among young people in the age of multimedia and open sources".
For Mr. Ahad, the media contribute to "the dissemination of knowledge and reliable information that help young people to develop critical thinking, discernment and combat extremist ideas, with a view to consolidating positive values in society and adapting to technological advances".
