Switzerland/ Effective wages rose by 2.1% this year in Switzerland
The average increase in effective wages in Switzerland in 2024 was 2.1%, according to a survey by the Federal Statistical Office published on Tuesday.
Effective and minimum wages rose by an average of 2.1% and 2% respectively in 2024. The social partners signing Switzerland's main collective labor agreements (CLAs) have agreed to these increases for the current year.
The average rise in effective salaries (+2.1%) was distributed as follows: 0.4% for individuals and 1.7% for groups, according to a survey by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) published on Tuesday.
Within the framework of the main CLAs, i.e. those with at least 1,500 employees, the social partners have agreed on an average nominal increase in effective wages of 2.1% for 2024 (2023: 2.5%; 2022: 0.8%; 2021: 0.4%; 2020: 0.9%).
Taking into account inflation forecasts for 2024 (+1.2%), real wages in the conventional sector should rise by 0.9% this year. Just over 613,000 people are covered by effective wage agreements.
