Algeria/Oran: launch of the 4th edition of the African Youth Forum

The 4th edition of the African Youth Forum opened in Oran on Friday, with the participation of some 500 young people from 55 African countries, to mark African Youth Day on November 1 each year.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of Education, Higher Education, Vocational Training and Culture, Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui.ducation, de l'enseignement supérieur, de la formation professionnelle et de la culture, Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Abderrahmane Hamad, the President of the Conseil Supérieur de la Jeunesse, Mustapha Hidaoui, the Lybian Minister of Youth, Fathallah Al-Zni, the Head of the Women, Gender and Youth Directorate (DFGJ) at the African Union Commission (AUC), Nonkululeko Prudence Ngwenya, and the African Union Commissioner for Education, Training and Culture, Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui.African Union Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mohamed Belhocine, as well as several Algerian and foreign ministers and officials and African Union executives.

This 4th edition of the Forum, which coincides with the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious War of Liberation and African Youth Day on November 1 each year, under the slogan "African education fit for the 21st century: building flexible education systems to increase access to high quality, global lifelong learning appropriate to Africa".

During this four-day continental youth event, a number of topics will be addressed through a series of sessions and workshops linked to the themes of education as a key factor in the development of Africa.ducation as a key factor in the development of African youth, as well as youth organization and representation, employment, entrepreneurship, health and culture.

The African Union's Agenda 2063, the African Youth Charter in its twentieth year, development, digitization and innovation will also be discussed.

A few weeks ago, the African Union announced that Algeria had won the honor of organizing the fourth edition of the African Youth Forum, through a bid drawn up under the supervision of the Higher Council for Youth, in collaboration with several related public sectors.
