Morocco/Moulay Rachid District Prefecture - INDH: Study days on disability and the convergence of interventions
Casablanca - Study days on disability, organized by the Prefectural Committee for Human Development (CPDH) of the Moulay Rachid district prefecture, opened on Wednesday in Casablanca, under the theme "Convergence of interventions, a guarantee of service quality".
Held over two days, with the participation of a number of social players and stakeholders, these study days provide an opportunity to debate and exchange ideas on the all-important subject of disability.
They also provide an opportunity to evaluate the projects carried out in favor of this category and to mobilize all the players concerned at prefecture level, while raising awareness of the importance and sensitivity of this subject.
Speaking on the occasion, Jamal Makhtatar, Governor of the Moulay Rachid district prefecture and President of the CPDH, said that the study days were part of the importance attached by the National Initiative for Human Development (NIDH) to the development of the local population.National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) attaches to vulnerable groups in general, and people with disabilities in particular, to enable them to integrate into their socio-economic environment.
He emphasized that in order to strengthen the convergence of sectoral programs, which forms the basis of project planning and guides interventions, the prefecture is organizing these study days to achieve objectives that will serve as a roadmap to guide the interventions of territorial governance committees in dealing with issues relating to this category.
The main aim is to set up a statistical database on disability, making it possible to situate the prefecture, assess the degree of integration of people with disabilities in the local community, and identify the needs of the local population.of people with disabilities in their socio-economic environment, identify the obstacles to this integration and determine the needs to ensure the effectiveness of interventions.
For his part, Saïd Traoua, Head of the Prefecture's Social Action Division, pointed out that this activity was part of the INDH's commitment to categories in vulnerable situations, notably through the support program for people with disabilities. Mr. Traoua pointed out that this activity was part of the INDH's commitment to helping vulnerable groups, notably through the program to support people in precarious situations, aware of the importance of supporting these groups and enabling them to integrate into their socio-economic environment, particularly people with disabilities.
Mr. Traoua pointed out that these days represent an opportunity to reinforce the principle of convergence between INDH programs and the programs and projects of social players, in order to respond to the problems linked to the integration of people with disabilities into their socio-economic environment.
For her part, Amina Fouassi, provincial delegate for Entraide Nationale, described the efforts made to provide support and guidance for people with disabilities, in particular through the Centres d'Orientation et d'Orientation de l'Entraide Nationale. These centers cover urban and rural areas in all regions of the Kingdom (78 centers).
She added that these centers are a reference point for guidance and assistance to people with disabilities at territorial level, stressing that they act as a one-stop shop specialized in the field of disability, to which people with disabilities, their families and all stakeholders in this field can turn.
It should be noted that the program for these study days includes two conferences: the first will focus on the challenges and realities of disability in the prefecture, with particular emphasis on the psychological and social problems that children with disabilities can face, as well as ways of helping them.and the challenges they face in accessing social services.
The second conference, which will focus on the reality and prospects of schooling for children with disabilities in the prefecture, will look at ways ofimprove the learning environment to promote access to schooling for children with disabilities, and to guarantee an inclusive and effective education for them.
