SENEGAL-SANTE-CAMPAGNE / "Pink October": 178 women screened for breast and cervical cancer in Richard-Toll
A total of 178 women in the northern commune of Richard-Toll were screened for breast and cervical cancer as part of the "Pink October" screening campaign.
"For more than three years, we've been working to raise awareness and encourage women to go for screening during campaigns against breast and cervical cancer. This year, we were able to screen 178 women at the Ndiaw health post, thanks to the support of the Gaya hospital in Richard-Toll.said Doudou Niang, president of the "Ndiaw d'Abord" association, which organized the screening event.
Speaking at the end of the screening day, he explained that this year's objective was to screen 150 women. "But given the high demand, the association was able to add twenty-eight women to the list that had already been drawn up", he said.
Doudou Niang, explained that this campaign, is an opportunity for their association to participate in the development of their neighborhood, particularly in the health field. "That's why we put a lot of emphasis on raising awareness throughout the campaign," he added.
He expressed the hope that the city's other associations would do likewise, so that together they can "lift the taboos facing society".
