Vietnam/ Cà Mau mobilizes all its resources to eradicate precarious housing
The province of Cà Mau (South) has set itself the target of completing, by September 2, 2025, the construction or repair of 3,995 temporary and dilapidated houses for households and individuals who have rendered meritorious services to the Revolution, poor households, near-poor households and households from ethnic minorities.
Of this total, 3,253 houses will be built and 742 repaired, at a total cost of 181.2 billion dôngs.
In order to secure the resources needed to implement the program to eliminate precarious housing, Cà Mau intends to mobilize funds from many different sources: State, Social Policy Bank, companies, individuals...
Nguyên Duc Hiên, Deputy Secretary of the Cà Mau Provincial Party Committee, emphasized the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFP) Provincial Committee in coordinating efforts in this area.
At the same time, the province will also expand its cooperation with other localities and enterprises to support it in resolving socio-economic develovelopment issues and ensure social security, with a view to soon achieving the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses on its soil.
According to Lê Thanh Triêu, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Provincial Committee, Fatherland Front committees at all levels in the province have mobilized funds to build 764 "đại đoàn kêt", which literally means "house of great solidarity", for poor and near-poor households, households in difficult housing situations, i.e. 153% of the target of 500 houses. A major contribution to sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in the province.
