Morocco-USA: Twinning agreement between the municipality of Dakhla and the city of Columbus

The agreement was initialed by the President of the Dakhla Communal Council, Erragheb Hormatallah, and the Mayor of the City of Columbus (Ohio), Andrew Ginther, in the presence of the Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Governor of the Province of Oued-Eddahab, Ali Khalil, and the Mayor of Arlington, Texas, Jim Ross, as well as elected officials.???

In a statement to the press, Andrew Ginther, mayor of Columbus, Ohio, and president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, said he was "delighted to be visiting Dakhla for the first time and to get to know the Moroccan people closely, in order to establish very important relations".He praised HM King Mohammed VI's far-sighted vision for the development of the Kingdom's southern provinces.???

For his part, Erragheb Hormatallah, President of the Dakhla Communal Council, indicated that this twinning agreement would benefit the inhabitants of the towns of Dakhla and Columbus, as part of the exchange of partnership and cooperation with the two cities.He added that this twinning agreement would benefit the inhabitants of the towns of Dakhla and Columbus in the framework of partnership and cooperation with the United States, especially as it would promote the region's large-scale development projects in various fields. ???

According to both parties, the signing of this agreement testifies to the mutual desire of the two peoples to consolidate relations of understanding, partnership and constructive friendship, based on mutual respect, equality and common interests, in accordance with the laws and legislation in force.???
