Various events were organized on Tuesday in the wilayas of Ouargla and Touggourt to mark International Rural Women's Day, organizers said.

The event was marked in Ouargla by the organization of an exhibition dedicated to the marketing of rural women's products at the Islamic Cultural Center, on the initiative of the local Department of Social Action and Solidarity (DASS). on the initiative of the local directorate of social action and solidarity (DASS), with the participation of 25 craftswomen working in various trades, said the director of the sector, Ahmed Sakhi.

Several women entrepreneurs have benefited from training, support and financing for their projects as part of the State's efforts to strengthen the integration of rural women and housewives into the national economy, added Mr. Sakhi.

The program also includes training sessions for women wishing to launch their own micro-projects. by women entrepreneurs and executives from the Social Development Agency (ADS), the Chamber of Crafts and Trades (CAM) and the Department of Vocational Training and Education (DFEP), he continued.

In Touggourt, a similar activity opened in the hall of the commune of the wilaya capital. Inaugurated by local authorities, the exhibition brought together 53 craftswomen offering a range of traditional handicrafts, including embroidery, basketry, weaving and organic cosmetics.

Siham Babaarbi, head of the rural women's unit at the local forestry conservation authority, took the opportunity to point out that a rich and varied program comprising training courses for rural women in a number of areas relating to agricultural activities, including poultry farming, aquaculture, beekeeping, the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, cheese-making and the extraction of vegetable oils.

This program, which involves all stakeholders, aims to improve the productive capacities of rural women and housewives, as well as strengthening their role in socio-economic development, she stressed.
