Guercif - In its third phase (2019-2023), the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) has focused on expanding pre-school education in the province of Guercif, creating and equipping 109 pre-school units for children aged 4 to 6 in the province's various communes.

This strong commitment by the INDH is explained by the important role of pre-school education as one of the fundamental pillars of the reform of the education system in Morocco.

This reform has laid a solid foundation for the early enrolment of children and the strengthening of their linguistic and cognitive capacities, in perfect harmony with efforts to establish equity and reduce spatial and social disparities.

With this in mind, the INDH, which has made the generalization of pre-school education a priority in its third phase, has had a positive impact on early childhood education, particularly in rural areas.

In fact, the major efforts made have resulted in the creation, equipping and management of a large number of kindergartens.s, between 2019 and 2023, as part of the "Impulsing the human capital of rising generations" program, and its relative axis linked to support for pre-school education.

In a statement to MAP, Hassan Kara, head of the Social Action Division (DAS) of the Guercif province prefecture, emphasized that the INDH, particularly during its third phase, has paid great attention to the promotion and generalization of pre-school education, thus helping to improve conditions for children and ensure them a quality education and the development of their personality.

He explained that, between 2019 and 2023, the Guercif Provincial Human Development Committee (CPDH) is working to create 109 pre-school units, mainly in rural and remote areas, in partnership with the Moroccan Foundation for the Promotion of Pre-school Education (FMPS) and the Moroccan Ministry of Education.education (FMPS) and the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, with a budget of around 40.4 million dirhams (MDH) earmarked for construction, equipment and management (for a two-year period).

According to Mr. Kara, these units, spread throughout the province's communes, will benefit 1.200 children, 48% of them girls, and help to improve their cognitive abilities, develop their personality, prepare them for better integration into primary school and help them to succeed in their school careers.

For his part, Mehdi Guennouni, provincial manager of the FMPS in Guercif, indicated that the total number of pre-school units run by the Foundation in the region wasunits managed by the Foundation in the province, including those built under the INDH program, amounted to 233 units, benefiting 2.900 pupils.

He pointed out that the Foundation has mobilized all the resources, tools and teaching equipment needed to offer better services to the beneficiaries, whose numbers are constantly increasing, in coordination and cooperation with the local Human Development Committee and other partners.
