Morocco/Settat province: INDH boosts access to pre-school education with more than 480 units
Settat - The National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), in its third phase, places particular emphasis on the generalization and promotion of pre-school education, especially in rural areas, contributing to the consolidation and development of the human capital of rising generations.
In this vein, the Settat Prefectural Human Development Committee (CPDH) has programmed 484 pre-school education units between 2019 and 2024, with the aim of encouraging school enrolment and combating school dropout.
Salma Massali, an executive in charge of pre-school education at the Social Action Division of the Settat provincial prefecture, said that these projects, to which INDH has contributedwere scheduled to be built, equipped and managed in partnership with the national education sector and the Zakoura Foundation for Education.
In a statement to MAP, on the sidelines of a field visit to the "Lewrarka Oulad Si Omar 2" pre-school teaching unit (Bni Yagrine commune) as part of the monitoring of the smooth running of the starte scolaire 2024-2025, Ms. Massali noted that the main aim of these units is to generalize access to quality pre-school education and encourage academic excellence.
She added that these units, which benefit more than 4,000 children, have enabled the creation of more than 360 permanent jobs for educators, noting that 75 additional units are planned to cover the rural areas of Settat still lacking these services.
For her part, Hayat Jermouni, an educator at the "Lewrarka Oulad Si Omar 2" pre-school unit, stressed the importance of the INDH's actions in the education of children.INDH in educating children, enabling them to acquire the cognitive skills they need before entering elementary school.
She also noted that pre-school education helps children overcome fear and develop a more independent personality.
Thus, INDH's efforts continue in the province of Settat to support the pre-school education sector, given its importance in strengthening cognitive skills during the first years of a child's life.
