Several regional projects received substantial funding from the Fonds régions et ruralités (FRR), at the last meeting of the Pierre-De Saurel MRC council on September 11.

Firstly, the Ville de Saint-Ours' Gym complet et accessible project, which aims to offer modern, inclusive facilities to the community, will receive a grant of $58,000.

Since May 1, a community gym has been available free of charge to Saint-Ours residents at the Centre des Loisirs Richard-Gosselin.

Next, the MRC Board approved a project by the Municipality of Yamaska to add modules to its parks. The project aims to improve recreational spaces for families and residents. A grant of $72,000 has been authorized for the project.

Council members also authorized a grant of $49,055.41 for the replacement of street furniture in Saint-Joseph-de-Sorel's Parc Charlemagne-Péloquin.

Finally, Massueville will receive a grant of $14,116 to build two pétanque courts in the Carré royal park hall.
