Morocco/Mohammedia: INDH supports access to education for children in difficult circumstances
Two school buses acquired as part of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) were handed over on Monday to the commune of Aïn Harrouda (Mohammedia prefecture), for the benefit of the Lalla Amina social center.

During a visit to the Centre social Lalla Amina, a center for children and young people in difficult circumstances in Jnane Zenata, the governor of the prefecture of Mohammedia, Hicham M'daghri Alaoui presided over the ceremony to hand over the keys to two school buses, worth a total of around 700.000 dirhams. An action aimed at improving access to education in social welfare establishments, being one of INDH's priorities.
The Lalla Amina Social Center for children and young people in difficult circumstances, which is the fruit of a partnership between the Comité Préfectoral du Développement Humain in Mohammedia, Entraide nationale and the Ligue Marocaine, is a project to improve access to education in social welfare establishments, one of the INDH's priorities.Entraide Nationale and the Ligue Marocaine pour la Protection de l'Enfance (LMPE), aims to improve conditions for children in difficult situations, and to promote the quality of care for this target category within social welfare establishments.
In a statement to MAP on this occasion, Khadija Jilal, Head of the Social Action Division at the Mohammedia Prefecture, said that the center, covering an area of 1.200 m², has mobilized a total budget of over 5 million dirhams (including 4.4 million dirhams for fittings and equipment), noting that it is mainly intended for children from disadvantaged families and difficult social cases.
She added that, as part of the INDH action plan for 2024, the Lalla Amina Social Center received support for the acquisition of two school buses worth 700.000 dirhams, thus facilitating access to and improvement of education in social welfare establishments.
The Center currently accommodates 50 beneficiaries who continue their education in public schools in the Aïn Harrouda commune.
For his part, Brahim Yassine, central coordinator of the LMPE, emphasized in a similar statement the importance of INDH's continued support for this center, which is concerned with the accompaniment of people in precarious situations.
"The center aims to improve the living conditions of boarders by providing accommodation, food, medical follow-up and psychological support, as well as educational support and cultural, social and sporting activities," he added.
