The launch of activities echoing the campaign to make the world cleaner 2024 took place this Sunday morning, September 22, in Thanh Tri district, Hanoi. Thanh Tri is one of Hanoi's most environmentally committed districts.

At the ceremony, Nguyên Huy Toàn, vice-chairman of the Thanh Tri District People's Committee, said that, echoing the "Make the World Cleaner" 2024 campaign, the district would plant 90 sao den (Hopea odorata) trees in Chu Van An Park, helping to increase the number of urban trees planted after Typhoon Yagi. He also called on every citizen to use resources wisely, recycle and sort solid waste and reduce its quantity.

Immediately after the launch ceremony, a number of activities took place, including garbage collection and tree planting at Chu Van An Park, a bicycle ride to protect the environment on Chu Van An Park, and an event to raise awareness of the importance of recycling. The "Make the World Cleaner" campaign, initiated by Australia and launched by the United Nations Environment Program worldwide in 1993, is held periodically in the third week of September each year. To date, the campaign has seen the participation of over 180 countries worldwide.
