Burkina/Education: The "Coachs du cœur" association launches its "Jeune horizon 2025" program to support 50 students
The "Coachs du cœur" association launched its "Jeune horizon 2025" program in Ouagadougou on Tuesday September 17, 2024. The program is designed to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
A total of 50 students, most of them in the final year of secondary school (3e and Terminale), are targeted by this program. They will be supported with school kits, preparation for competitive entrance exams, orientation workshops, educational activities, career discovery, work placements, mentoring, personalized coaching and more.
The "jeune horizon 2025" program involves 50 students from disadvantaged backgrounds, mainly in 3rd and Terminale exam classes. The aim of the program is to enable these children not only to succeed in their various exams at the end of the year, but also to help them achieve their full potential.examinations at the end of the year, but also to give them access to additional training, and to fun activities designed to help them discover the world of work. This will take the form of academic support and preparation for competitive examinations for those who wish to take them. It should also be said that the program will be part of the dynamic of internships for children and also the mentoring program", explains Aristide Sié Da, executive assistant of the Coachs du cœur association.
For him, the selection was made on the basis of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. "But we also work in partnership with associations in the same field. In particular, our partner associations and partners such as the Lycée technique national Aboubacar Sangoulé Lamizana made the selection on the basis of the students' difficult conditions. The aim of the Coachs du cœur association is to expand to the four corners of Burkina. We're already represented in Côte d'Ivoire, where we carry out a number of activities. We've been in existence since 2020, and today we've helped 5,000 children. Our goal is to go beyond Ouagadougou and certain towns," explained Aristide Sié Da.
This program was made possible thanks to the contribution of sister associations such as Petit Jean. According to Maria Yaméogo, program director of the Petit Jean association, this program will enable children to succeed both academically and professionally. "We joined forces because it's a great initiative that will give children the tools they need to succeed in their exams, and the resources they need to move forward in their professional lives. The program is very rich and will enable the children to discover certain professions to help them make their career choices. We have contributed technically and materially, as well as with human resources", she indicated.
Maria Yaméogo took the opportunity to encourage companies to join in this initiative, because "education is the weapon that will enable all these children to succeed in life. If we invest in the education of these young people, we guarantee the country's future. I invite everyone to take part in this adventure on behalf of these young people, for the well-being of our country". For the record, the Petit Jean association works to educate underprivileged children through sponsorship of educational activities, awareness-raising and training, etc.
The beneficiaries were delighted. According to some of them, this program will help the beneficiaries not only in their school curriculum, but also in their professional orientation.
"Personally, I'm moved to be one of the beneficiaries, because I didn't believe in it. First, I was on a trip and I was contacted that I had been selected among the best of LTN. I thought it was a joke, but now I see it's real. And I'm really moved, very happy. I'd like to thank the initiators and I hope that God will grant them many blessings so that they can do better next year. In the program, they said there would be coaching and internships. This will help me in my studies to understand better. What I get from the teachers at school and their coaching won't be the same explanations. So two more are better than one, and two explanations are more than one. As for the internship, it will prepare me professionally. We're used to being in the classroom, not out in the field. And given that we'll be doing internships even before the BAC, it's going to help me a lot to understand the environment in which I'm going to be involved."says Abdoul Madjid Zoromé, a student in Tle F4 at the Lycée technique national Aboubacar Sangoulé Lamizana.
"I'm really proud. There are already a lot of us in our Petit Jean association, so to be part of the Jeune Horizon 2025 program is really something, especially as we were looking for 50 people. This program is going to help me a lot, because I'm lacking in certain subjects and the aim of the program is to increase students' chances of success by filling their gaps. So it's going to help me. The training courses and internships will also help me, especially when it comes to orientation. Not all children have these opportunities, so it's going to help me a lot.said Divine Bouda, a student in Tle D at the Lycée privé Emergence C, who has dreamed of becoming a gendarme since childhood.
The "Coachs du cœur" association is a non-profit organization of volunteers committed to the education and development of young people.
