France/ In Plerguer, the twinning festival attracts local associations and designers
The Plerguer-Lette twinning festival took place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, with a rally followed by an afternoon of local designers, a friendly soccer match and an evening of music.
The marquee, refreshment stands, flower float, music stage and stalls were all set up on Saturday, July 27, 2024, to welcome the twinning festival between Plerguer (Ille-et-Vilaine) and the German town of Lette. Designers came to present their works, their creations and their local productions, such as black garlic powder from the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel and Silvaé Nature black lemon powder from designer Sylvie Gesbert Hardy. "I use natural products from the bay, grown in land stirred by sea spray, for my powders, confits and oils. Since May, you can find me at the cale de Rochebonne in Saint-Malo, along with other producers and creators from the region", explains the craftswoman.
Soccer and music for the end of the day
A little further on, Djakaridja Koné, president of the association Culture, art et littérature d'Afrique de l'Ouest (Calao) from Plerguer, was on hand to present art photos, masks and awalé games. "For Halloween, an event is planned at the Plerguer library, with children from both schools designing their own masks from the art objects on display", he announces.
The Loisirs créatifs association from Plerguer was on hand to offer its objects, all created from recycled fabrics or materials, such as coffee capsules, transformed into bouquets of flowers, at the end of wooden or twisted iron rods, as well as door wedges. The collective will be at the Telethon in December, with new proposals. The afternoon ended with a friendly Franco-German soccer match and a musical evening.
