A parliamentary delegation from the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of El Salvador visited Laâyoune on Wednesday to learn about the level of development in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region in various fields.

Chaired by Carlos René Hernandez Castillo, the Salvadorian parliamentary delegation was briefed on efforts to strengthen basic infrastructure in Laâyoune, in addition to the measures taken by the State to breathe new life into the region's development.

On this occasion, the members of the delegation attended a presentation on the commune's development program at the Laâyoune municipal headquarters, in the presence of Moulay Hamdi Ould Errachid, President of the Communal Council.velopment program and learned about the various development projects included in the new Development Model for the Southern Provinces, launched by HM King Mohammed VI in 2015.

Earlier in the day, the parliamentary delegation held a meeting with Abdeslam Bekrate, wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region and governor of Laâyoune province.emphasis was placed on the relevance of the autonomy plan presented by Morocco, as well as on the development boom that the region is experiencing in various fields.

During the meeting, the region's wali highlighted the democratic process in the southern provinces, in particular the latest free and transparent elections held in March.lectoral elections, marked by a massive turnout of the local population, reflecting their attachment to the motherland and their support for the management of their local affairs.

In addition, the parliamentary delegation visited major construction sites to see the quality of educational, sports and socio-economic infrastructures.

They visited the sports village, the Olympic swimming pool, the women's club and the indoor sports hall, as well as the Cité des métiers et des compétences and the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Over the course of the week, the parliamentary delegation from the Republic of El Salvador held a series of meetings, notably with the President of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami.

The Salvadoran parliamentary delegation is made up of Daniel Joaquin Aguillon Marquez, Johanna Michelle Anaya De Murillo, and Cécilia Guadalupe Rivera Mendez.
