The Ministry of Youth Promotion, Professional Insertion and Civic Service in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), launched on Monday, July 22, 2024 in Ferkessédougou the Life Skills Capacity Building (CVC) program for adolescents and vulnerable youth as part of the "Generations Without Limits" (GenU) initiative.

Okobé Arsène, Director of Youth Protection at the Ministry of Youth Promotion, explained that this program will enable the state to mentor young people and give them skills and abilities to face certain life challenges and strengthen their employability. "It's important for young people to be agents of positive change in their communities," he said.

For UNICEF Korhogo Head of Office Gnamien Guy Richard, this program is one of the concrete responses for young people facing challenges, particularly those in the most vulnerable areas. "We have made a commitment, along with the Ivorian government, to the young people we are implementing," he said.

Jean Pierre Sory, Prefect of the Tchologo region and Prefect of the Ferkessédougou department, urged the region's young people to get fully involved in order to benefit from the program's achievements.

The CVC is implemented in partnership with the International Labor Organization (ILO), UNICEF and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). It is subsidized by the Swiss Cooperation and the European Union.

By 2024, the program will have reached 220 peer educators, 22 supervisors and 22 coordinators and 7,000 adolescents and young people aged 10 to 24 in 11 regional and departmental offices across the country.
