Morocco/Rabat: closing of the 2nd cohort of the "African Women in Tech & AI Program".

The second cohort of the "African Women in Tech & AI Program" (AWITAI) came to a close on Saturday evening in Rabat, at a ceremony attended by 80 women from 28 African countries.

This initiative, organized by the UM6P AI Movement, the OCP Foundation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), has paved the way for African women in the fields of technology, innovation and artificial intelligence.

Speaking at the event, Aawatif Hayar, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, stressed that Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, had made significant progress in enshrining women's rights in all fields.

She also pointed out that Morocco is a pioneering country in Africa in the field of artificial intelligence, noting that this technology contributes to the empowerment of women and also enables them to develop new skills to integrate easily into the job market.

For her part, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Executive President of Morocco's International Center for Artificial Intelligence, "AI Movement", part of UM6P, noted that this year's program welcomed that this year's program welcomed 80 women from 28 African countries, and focused for two weeks on the training, incubation and coaching phases.

She also reported that the participants had presented a series of proposals for artificial intelligence projects to resolve issues relating to the status of African women, as well as technological solutions to try toThey also presented technological solutions for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa, in addition to issues relating to agriculture, health, nutrition and training.

During the Summer Camp, 80 participants had the opportunity to network and take part in training workshops and specialized courses led by researchers and experts.

Ai Mouvement - UM6P is a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence that aims to foster the emergence of Moroccan expertise in artificial intelligence and data science, and to anticipate and support developments and transformations linked to AI and data science.
