Morocco/INDH in Essaouira: 36 additional projects approved for 2024
Essaouira - On Tuesday, the Essaouira Provincial Committee for Human Development (CPDH) approved some 36 new projects worth over 3.9 million dirhams (MDH) as part of the additional programming of projects supported by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) for the current year.
During the meeting, chaired by Essaouira provincial governor Adil El Maliki, CPDH members approved seven projects under the "Accompagnement des Personnes en Situation de Précarité" program.
With a total budget of 1.36 MDH, including some 993,000 dirhams as a contribution from the INDH, these projects will benefit 740 people spread over five communes.
CPDH members also approved seven projects as part of the "Amélioration du Revenu et Inclusion Economique des Jeunes" program, at a total cost of MAD 954,216, including MAD 922,529 provided by INDH.
With regard to the "Impulsion du Capital Humain des Générations Montantes" program, the CPDH approved 22 projects, representing a total investment of over MAD 1.63 million.
These projects aim to strengthen the capacities and improve the living conditions of young people, with an emphasis on education, health and skills development.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. El Maliki hailed the INDH's remarkable achievements at provincial level in several areas, notably health and pre-school, recalling, in this sense, the Initiative's funding of 409 pre-school units in all communes under the province's jurisdiction between 2019 and 2023.
He also highlighted initiatives aimed at boosting the professional integration of the province's baccalaureate holders and university students, recalling the creation of the Essaouira TechnoPark as well as other projects.Essaouira TechnoPark, as well as other laudable initiatives designed to enhance the employability of young people in key sectors such as the blue economy, renewable energies and crafts.
He went on to give an overview of other projects underway, notably those linked to the improvement of health services, the promotion of sustainable tourism and the development of infrastructure.velopment of infrastructure, calling on all stakeholders to foster close collaboration to ensure the success of these initiatives and maximize their positive impact on the local population.
The meeting, the CPDH's second of the current year, was an opportunity for the Head of the Social Action Division (DAS) at the Essaouira provincial prefecture, Ms. Hassania Besson.Essaouira, Ms Hassania Dmaj, to give a comprehensive presentation detailing the projects proposed for approval, including their scope, objectives and expected impact on local development.
The audience then heard presentations on several projects carried out at provincial level thanks to the contribution of INDH partners, notably the Al Mada Foundation and the "Tibu Maroc" Association.
The meeting was also marked by the signing of a framework agreement between the CPDH, the provincial Department of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and the company "YSCOOL", aimed at providing educational support via digital platforms.
A second partnership agreement for academic support through sports development was also signed between CPDH, the Direction provinciale de l'Éducation nationale, du Préet des Sports, the Société de Développement Local Essaouira Culture, Arts et Patrimoine, the "Association de l'espace provincial des associations sportives" and the "Association des joueurs de basketball de Mogador".
A third partnership agreement was also signed between the CPDH, the Provincial Department of National Education, Preschool and Sports and the Tibu Maroc Association, for the implementation of a project concerning schools for the professional integration of young people through sport.
The CPDH also signed a partnership agreement with Nareva Enel Power Morocco and the Injaz Al-Maghrib Association, for the implementation of a project to support local cooperatives.
In addition, three other agreements were signed with three cooperatives operating in the crafts and argan sectors.
The meeting also saw the handover of keys to 14 beneficiary cooperatives for their installation in the new infrastructure of the Village d'Artisanat in the commune of El Hanchane.
