As part of Verteillac's twinning with Fontanetto Po, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, an Italian delegation visited the town from Friday April 26 to Sunday April 28.

Although the original twinning charter was signed on April 27 in front of 400 people thirty-four years ago in Verteillac, the communes had already said "yes" to each other for the first time in Italy, in September 1990. Since then, this partnership has enabled many families to forge ties.

On Friday evening, an olive tree was planted. On Saturday, the delegation visited the Château de Jaurias in Goûts-Rossignol and the town of Brantôme. At the end of the afternoon, a pact of fraternity was officially signed in the presence of Christian Vallade and Gabriella Spina, presidents of the twinning committee, and Régis Defraye, mayor of Verteillac, Valéria Bergamasco, first deputy mayor of Fontanetto Po, and Didier Bazinet, president of the Communauté de communes du Périgord ribéracois (CCPR). Sunday was also a busy day, ending with a meal at the Domaine de la Meyfrenie.

To anchor this partnership within the village, a new plaque has been sealed on the Place Fontanetto Po in Verteillac.
