Morocco/Conference in Rabat on "the protection of personal data and the right of access to information in Morocco".
The Commission Nationale de Contrôle de la Protection des Données à Caractère Personnel (CNDP) and the Commission du Droit d'Accès à l'Information (CDAI) organized a conference in Rabat on Friday on the theme of "personal data protection and the right of access to information in Morocco".
The meeting, dedicated to journalists from all media backgrounds, covered a range of topics, including Law 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, and Law 31-13 on the right of access to information.es à caractère personnel and law n°31-13 on the right of access to information, as well as the missions of the two bodies and their role in respecting the privacy of citizens in a context marked by strong digitalization.
In a statement to MAP, the Chairman of the CNDP and CDAI, Omar Seghrouchni, said that the aim of the meeting was to present the two value systems that are supported by the CNDP and CDAI.s by the Commission Nationale de Contrôle de la Protection des Données à Caractère Personnel on the one hand, and the Commission du Droit d'Accès à l'Information on the other.
Article 24 of the Constitution, on privacy, and Article 25, on the right of access to information, refer to these two value systems.We need journalists to be able to explain these two systems to society".
The meeting was also an opportunity to look at the "Data-Tika" programs set up by the CNDP to protect Moroccan citizens in the digital ecosystem, and to reinforce measures to protect their privacy.rique ecosystem and to reinforce personal data protection measures, and "Info-Tika" initiated by the CDAI to combat "Fake news", in addition to the deliberations of the two commissions.
