Benin/Municipality of Parakou: The collective budget for fiscal year 2024 is adopted

The municipal councillors of the commune of Parakou are in municipal session for 3 days. The second ordinary session of 2024 was opened by Mayor Inoussa Chabi Zimé. Several items are on the agenda for this session, which adopted the collective budget for fiscal year 2024.

As of this Thursday, April 11, 2024, the municipality of Parakou has the collective budget for fiscal year 2024. It was adopted by the municipal councilors present and represented. The collective budget for the 2024 financial year of the municipality of Parakou balances revenue and expenditure at 4 billion 76 million 747 thousand 203 CFA francs, including 3 billion 39 million 509 thousand 134 CFA francs for operating expenses and 1 billion 806 million 177 thousand 473 CFA francs for capital expenditure. According to Hyacinthe Elégbédé, Executive Secretary of Parakou Town Hall, this collective budget was drawn up the transfer of additional resources from unallocated Fadec in the amount of 300 million CFA francs for the construction of the maison desthe transfer of the balance of unallocated Fadec investment in the amount of 42 million 742 thousand 264 CFA francs and the transfer of additional resources from unallocated Fadec special investment endowment in the amount of 6 million 787 thousand 978 CFA francs. The S.E. recalled that during the preparation of the collective budget, certain operating and investment budget lines were readjusted.

It should be recalled that items relating to the allocation of estates to certain structures had been withdrawn, and the municipal councilors proposed that these files be entrusted to the State and Environmental Affairs Commission for in-depth study. The councilors also asked the State and Environmental Affairs Commission to draw up an inventory of the various estates allocated to state or non-state structures, which are not being developed.

The session is scheduled to last three days, with several other items on the agenda.
