At the end of January, the Cerizay-Ongar twinning committee held its general meeting in the presence of mayor Johnny Brosseau and deputy mayor Rachel Merlet. President Françoise Ragueneau recalled that "the twinning was created in 1984 with the aim of organizing exchanges between the inhabitants of the two towns and enabling those interested to learn or improve their English language skills".

Before adding: "Faced with the difficulties of maintaining actions due to the drop in the number of host families and the effects of Brexit, we therefore looked for a French commune to create friendly links and build a partnership. That's how Val-au-Perche, a commune of 3,610 inhabitants in the Orne department, a grouping of six communes made in 2016, came to the fore. We expect to visit them in the spring.

She then outlined plans for 2024, including the 40th anniversary of the twinning, to be held from March 28 to April1 in the presence of British friends, participation in the carnival on April 13, and the organization of a show with the Brazilian music and dance group Batida on November 3.

The moral and financial balance sheets (surplus of €306) were unanimously approved. The membership card costs €10 for the1st member + €1 for each additional member.

The elections of Arlette Jolly, Maryse Bouchet, Marie-France Marceau and Maryline Botton were ratified, while Louisette Baudouin, Marie-Odile Souleyreau and Michel Baudouin left the Board of Directors.
