Algeria/Ksar El Boukhari in Médéa: Local development projects
The commune of Ksar El Boukhari, south of Médéa, has benefited from new projects designed to meet the expectations of the inhabitants of this large urban area, which has undergone significant urban expansion in recent years, according to the wilaya authorities.
Some of these projects are located in the integrated housing estate of Faidh Lahmar, on the southern outskirts of the town of Ksar El Boukhari, home to over 1,650 households, according to the same source. These projects include a polyclinic, launched at the end of January, an urban security headquarters and a mosque, construction of which is due to start in a few weeks' time.
These projects are in addition to the eight educational infrastructures built on the site, including five school groups, two middle schools and a high school, which have made it possible to provide schooling for the children of families living on the site, it was pointed out.
The site has also recently been equipped with a civil registry and biometric services annex, as part of a drive to bring the administration closer to the citizen, it was noted.
The commune of Ksar El Boukhari is also home to a youth center project, which will be built near the semi-Olympic swimming pool that has been operational for two years, according to the same services.
This main urban agglomeration in the south of the wilaya, with a population of nearly 80,000, has been allocated more than 30 projects over the last two years.
The projects concern public works, drinking water supply (AEP) and sanitation, as well as housing and public facilities, and are designed to meet the needs expressed by the population in these areas, it was noted.
