Angola/Drinking water arrives in the village of Quilamba
The village of Quilamba, on the outskirts of the Matala headquarters in Huila province, already has water, having built the first collection, treatment and distribution system.
The infrastructure helps to reduce the spread of diseases transmitted by the consumption of inappropriate liquids.
Jornal de Angola noted that the collection system was built under the Local Development Program to Fight Poverty (PDLCP), using solar energy.
The project is budgeted at 19 million kwanzas.
According to Matala's municipal administrator, Miguel Vicente, at the inaugural event, the beneficiaries "must be the first to preserve the system so that it can last longer and cover more and more families".
He also added that the collection system was created to "shorten the distances for families to bring water".
