Meet Africa 2, the European mobilization fund for entrepreneurship in Africa, came to the end of its cycle at the Meet Ecosystème Cameroun Back To Mboa on November 15 and 16, 2023.

The initiative was marked by the award and presentation of checks to the 5 prizewinners with projects in the digital, agri-food, health and education sectors.

Since its creation in 2019, more than 500 entrepreneurs from the diaspora, including 26 from Cameroon and 11 women, have received financial and technical support in the early stages of their project development in Africa and Cameroon in particular. For this year's event, the 5 Cameroon winners each received 30,000 euros, or over 22 million Fcfa.

The project is coordinated by Olivia Mukam, Country Expert for Cameroon, under the general supervision of Lou Bachelier Degras, Deputy Project Manager for MEET Africa 2, who was quick to underline the commitment of Europe and France to promoting the talents of entrepreneurs in Africa: "Diasporas help consolidate, create and strengthen ties between our countries, and today we need to strengthen these ties and support economic development" Lou Bachelier Degras.

The involvement of local institutions such as MINREX and FEICOM, which are strategic partners of the MEET Africa 2 project in Cameroon, is also worth noting. They create favorable conditions for the European initiative through diplomacy, and provide local authorities with prospects for projects with a wider impact on their development.
