On November 13 and 14, César Garcia Garcia, mayor of the municipality of Ramales de la Victoria, located in the province of Cantabria in northeast Spain, accompanied by a deputy, was received at Malestroit town hall, along with members of the Malestroit-Ramales de la Victoria Twinning Association (AJMR), as part of the twinning pact that has linked the two towns since 1992.

The Board of Directors took stock of the visit. In a very short space of time, we managed to prepare a rich and varied program for the visit of the mayor of Ramales. Everyone we met was very enthusiastic, and there was a real interest in twinning," confides Annie Blandin and José Thorel, the AJMR's co-presidents.

The first meeting of the new season took place on November 17, on the theme of introducing ourselves and describing our motivations for Spanish culture and language. Eight people attended. We've agreed to meet once a month, with a different theme at each meeting.

The next meeting, on the theme of Christmas in the different regions of France, is scheduled for Thursday December 14 at José Thorel's home. Each participant is asked to choose five words to discuss. If you are interested, please contact Corinne Rousseaux by e-mail at corinne.rousseaux2@orange.fr.
