Under the theme "Smart City", the 2023 Urban-Culture-Convergence Forum (CICON) was held on June 7 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The forum was organized on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.e (1992-2023) by the Korea CEO Summit (KCS), the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA), the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association (YBA) and the Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG).

The forum helps to expand opportunities for both countries to participate in the smart city and blockchain fields, while creating a network of Vietnamese and Korean companies and offering investment and online business opportunities.

Last year, to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea, the two countries also successfully organized the CICON Hanoi 2022 Forum.

An important event

In his speech at the forum, Phan Van Mai, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, stressed the importance of this event for the city's leaders.event for city leaders, experts and Korean and Vietnamese companies to share experiences and ideas on building a smart city, as well as on the values of culture and industry convergence in Ho Chi Minh City.

Phan Van Mai also stated that, with the aim of building a smart, modern and civilized city, Ho Chi Minh City has chosen Thu Duc City as a pilot model. Through this initiative, the city will be able to evaluate and learn lessons in order to replicate this model in other regions. The forum will enable the Ho Chi Minh City authorities to listen to and share the successes and experiences of the Republic of Korea, creating favorable conditions for businesses from both countries to meet and discuss mutually beneficial cooperation programs in the near future.

For his part, the CEO of the Korea CEO Summit, Park Bong Kyu, also expressed his satisfaction at the organization of this forum in Ho Chi Minh City, following the success of the Hanoi edition in 2022. He assured that he would do his best to organize this annual event so that it could contribute to the development of cities, culture and the convergence of industries between the two countries.

According to the organizing committee, CICON Ho Chi Minh City 2023 comprises 12 sessions aimed at discussing development strategies and directions in urban planning, culture and industry convergence. It offers an excellent opportunity to hear a variety of opinions and proposals from leaders, entrepreneurs from the urban, cultural and industrial sectors, academics and experts, as well as companies specializing in IT and in IT and financial services, on the prospects for the development of urban planning, culture and industry convergence in the Republic of Korea and Vietnam, following the COVID-19 pandemic.
