Four school transport buses were delivered on Wednesday by the Tipasa wilaya authorities, for the benefit of schoolchildren living in areas affected by the recent bad weather, according to the wilaya authorities.

Handled by the Ministry of the Interior, Local Authorities and Town and Country Planning, this operation is part of the emergency measures decided by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during last Sunday's Ministerial Council. In particular, the President of the Republic had ordered the allocation of a budget of DA10 billion to cover the losses caused by the bad weather that recently affected many regions of the country.

The four buses will be used to reinforce school transport in the communes of Fouka, Bouharoune, Khemisti and Bou Ismail, in particular for transporting pupils living in areas that are difficult to access due to accumulated mud.Access to these areas is difficult due to accumulated mud, as are those whose families benefited yesterday, Tuesday, from new housing as part of these same measures, according to the same source.

Yesterday, the wali of Tipasa supervised the rehousing of 122 families whose homes had collapsed following the recent flooding in the communes of Fouka (56 families), Khemisti (37 families), Bou Ismail (24 families), Koléa (4 families) and Bouhroune (one family).

The new homes are spread across seven sites in the communes of Khemisti, Bouharoune and Fouka.

The torrential rains recorded last Wednesday night in the communes of eastern Tipasa, with quantities of water estimated at between 100 and 160 mm, caused the death of 9-year-old Mohamed Raouf Bouazza in Khemisti.

The rains also caused partial road closures and collapsed houses, in addition to material losses at the fishing ports of Khemisti, Fouka and Bouharoune.

The Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Town and Country Planning, Brahim Merad, accompanied by the Minister of National Solidarity Solidarité nationale, de la Famille et de la Condition de la femme, Kaouthar Krikou, visited Bouazza's family home to convey the condolences of the President of the Republic.

On the spot, he affirmed the "mobilization of all State services to deal with the damage and preserve the dignity of citizens".
