From Thursday May 18 to Sunday May 21, delegations from the towns of Miastko (Poland), Vrbovec (Croatia) and Bethany-Beach (USA) were welcomed to celebrate ten years of twinning with Périers. Representatives of the town of Bad-Fallingbostel (Germany) were also present. An official reception was held on Saturday evening at the Salle Mandela, attended by 130 people and the municipal wind band, which played the anthems of the nations represented.

Mayor Gabriel Daube recalled that the twinning had begun in 1968, with Bad-Fallingbostel, our sister town in Lower Saxony. Then came Bastogne, Miastko, Vrbovec and Bethany-Beach. Today, we've all forgotten the historical and cultural reasons that brought us together. What remains is the desire to pursue an adventure of friendship and to get to know each other better.

Accompanied by their host families, the 50 or so representatives of the twinned towns took advantage of their stay in La Manche to visit the D-Day landing beaches, the Nord-Cotentin region and Mont Saint-Michel. They also visited Outil en main and Espace Hamilton-Levaufre.
