During the Ascension weekend, the exchange and twinning committee of Longuenée-en-Anjou welcomed 35 Germans from Alfhausen, including a dozen teenagers. For the first time, a program for 11-18 year olds was organized with the Association jeunesse intercommunale (Ajic) on May 18, 19 and 20.

The atmosphere was great throughout the weekend between the French and Germans thanks to the activities and the willingness of everyone to meet each other," said Arthur, Charlotte, Charly, Elea, Garance, Jette, Joris, Julius, Marie and Océane in unison. The Germans were welcomed on Thursday morning and then joined their host families for lunch. The afternoon was dedicated to different activities organized by Ajic with table soccer, field hockey and board games. "In the evening, we joined the families around a buffet in the Salle Émile-Rousseau. On Friday morning, we met at Ajic with Rémi and Marie, the animators, before a picnic on the banks of the Maine River in Angers.

The group then visited the castle of Angers and did a photo rally of the city's monuments. "On Saturday morning, we went shopping with our German friends so that they could return home with souvenirs. In the afternoon, we went to the swimming pool at Aquavita," and the French and Germans said goodbye at the barbecue at the La Meignanne stadium.

The exchange committee has been organizing these activities since its creation in 1997.
