Burkina Faso/Sanitation and recycling in Ouagadougou: The association Jeunesse solidaire et vaillante proposes "Clean Ouaga

The association "Jeunesse solidaire et vaillante" (JSV) was in front of the press this Monday, March 20, 2023 in Ouagadougou, to talk about its project called "Ouaga propre". This was an opportunity for the association to discuss the difficulties it is facing in its implementation, and to ask for the support of public authorities.

Created in 2016 and officially recognized in December 2021, the association Jeunesse solidaire et vaillante (JSV), has, during a press conference, presented its new baby called "Ouaga propre". The presentation of this project was made on March 20 in Ouagadougou. "Ouaga propre" is a sanitation and recycling project that will be implemented in the town of Ouagadougou and in other cities and countryside of Burkina.

It is a project for which recruitment is underway, according to the founding president of the JSV, Alassane Lallou, and which concerns, in particular, 22 different skilled trades such as mechanics, welding, restoration, masonry, etc. This will benefit more than 120,000 young people in Burkina, he says.

This is moreover proof, according to him, of their commitment to youth, because not limited only to criticism, but also to the act to make themselves useful. "Because our project will contribute to the sanitation of the city and will also create jobs for youth, which will allow to fight against terrorism, "he stressed.

As for the project itself, the founding president and his vice-president, Tankoudougou Zongo, said that it will consist of the preparation and free distribution of garbage cans to households in the thirteen regions of Burkina. And how will this happen? It will be a matter of registering to be selected as a beneficiary, the initiators reassure. The collected household waste will then be recycled, according to them, and this will provide employment to young people.

This forum was also an opportunity for the association to return to the difficulties it faces in the implementation of this project. That is why it requests the support of public authorities for the success of the project, by facilitating the work on the ground by granting authorizations and technical support.

The JSV is an association with a social purpose that is self-financed through the contributions of its members and the activities carried out within it, says the founding president.
