Togo/Fisc: cooperation agreement between the OTR and the General Directorate of Taxes of Gabon

The Togolese Revenue Office (OTR) and the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) of Gabon will strengthen their cooperation in tax matters, in the context of a new framework of cooperation, according to information made public by the Togolese Tax Office.

The partnership was signed during a mission led by the Gabonese DGI in Lomé early last week. The documents were initialed on Tuesday, March 8, 2023 by Philippe Kokou Tchodié, Commissioner General of the OTR, and Gabin Otha-Ndoumba, Director General of the Gabonese tax authorities.

This partnership, we learn, will allow both countries to exchange experiences and best practices to improve the efficiency of their respective missions, as well as to strengthen the capacities of their agents. A new Gabonese mission is also planned to explore the implementation of electronic tax payment terminals, based on the models put in place for the Motor Vehicle Tax (TVM).

The Gabonese administration is also interested in the Togolese model of the Tax and Customs Training Institute (IFFD-OTR), which trains administration professionals in taxation and service management.
