Bouaké, The Secretary General of the Prefecture of Bouaké, Jean-François Vanié, officially launched the process of drawing up the local development plan of the commune of Bouaké on Friday, February 24, 2023, during a ceremony organized for this purpose at the marriage hall of the town hall.

"The aim is to enable them to have a local development plan," said the prefectural authority, inviting all stakeholders to take ownership of this project given its participatory nature.

The Mont Horeb firm was commissioned by PIDUCAS to carry out the study for the preparation of this local development plan for the commune of Bouaké. It will have to deliver the plan-document within two months (by the end of April at the latest).

According to the head of the firm, Dr. François Agnimou, the study will be conducted in three phases. "First, individual consultations will be conducted in households.Then comes the phase of popular consultations aimed at grouping the communities by social strata and discussing their living conditions with them, and finally proceeding with the analysis of the data, which will be done outside the commune of Bouaké," he explained.

The 6th deputy mayor of Bouaké, Fanta Ouattara, who represented the mayor Nicolas Djibo, expressed the expectations of the authorities and the population with regard to the realization of this plan which will, according to her, give a proud look to the city of Bouaké. For his part, the regional manager of PIDUCAS, Judicaël Brou Boka, reassured the authorities of the city of Bouaké on the effective implementation of this project.

Initiated in June 2017 with joint funding from the World Bank and the State of Côte d'Ivoire to the tune of 78 billion CFA francs for a period of four years, the PIDUCAS project is being implemented in the city of Bouake.In addition to the development of this local development plan, the PIDUCAS has undertaken several projects for the city of Bouaké. These include, in particular, the development and strengthening of the crossing of National 13, the town hall of Bouaké (Palis du Carnaval), the Tollakouadiokro and the Yaoundé stadium.
