The kick-off of the 2nd edition of multidisciplinary medical caravans for the benefit of mother and child was given on Saturday at the health center of the town of Mers El Kheir in Témara.

This multidisciplinary medical caravan, organized by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) in partnership with the Moroccan Association of Supportive Mothers (AMMS), the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara and the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, is part of the implementation of Phase III of the INDH, in particular Program 4 dedicated to boosting human capital.gation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, is part of the implementation of Phase III of the INDH, in particular Program 4 dedicated to boosting the human capital of the rising generations.

The medical caravan aims to contribute to the improvement of access to health services, by providing specialized medical services and examinations for pregnant women, girls from 15 years old, women of childbearing age and women with disabilities. from 15 years, women under 45 years, children from 0 to 5 years and newborns, in addition to awareness campaigns on the importance of breastfeeding and good nutrition, in addition to the full coverage of some specific surgeries for children.

On this occasion, the representative of the Division of Social Action in the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara, Naoual Rguig, said that this caravan is part of the various programs organized by the INDH since its inception to promote services to the population.

She added, in a statement to MAP, that the objective of this caravan is to help improve access of pregnant women and children to specialized health services, stressing that the beneficiaries of this caravan are the women who are the most vulnerable to the disease.cialised health services, stressing that the beneficiaries will also be entitled to educational sessions on breastfeeding and good nutrition for children, in addition to the assumption of responsibility for certain surgeries for children.

For her part, the president of the AMMS, Latifa Moustaid, stressed that this multidisciplinary medical caravan is the first ofa series of caravans that will visit several rural communities in the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara in partnership and with the direct support of the INDH.

The number of beneficiaries of this multidisciplinary medical caravan, which is part of a voluntary medical program of 6 caravans that will visit the municipalities of Mers El Kheir, Sidi Yahya, Lamkhalif, Sabbah, Menzeh and Oum Azza, is about 5,000 people.
